Welcome to the SciFest National Final 2022

Welcome to the SciFest National Final 2022. We are so excited to be back hosting the event live for the first time in three years. The SciFest National Final celebrates the very best in STEM innovation in second-level education and offers the public a chance to engage with inspiring speakers and advocates of STEM. We greatly encourage you to take some time to view the students’ projects, to vote for your favourite video and to enjoy the talks available on Thursday 24 November. At the SciFest National Final 2022 award-winning students from 15 regional SciFest@College fairs are competing for a number of prestigious awards. The Final represents a culmination of a year's work for the students. This year’s National Final also includes a competition for the Boston Scientific Medical Devices Grand Award open to selected winners of the Boston Scientific Medical Devices Award at the regional fairs. Congratulations to Liam Waldron, Luke O’Sullivan and Rachel Griffin, sixth year students from Killarney Community College, Co. Kerry who were named SciFest STEM Champions 2022, for their project, A Group Theoretic Approach to Pythagoras’ Theorem. The students will go on to represent Ireland at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair in Dallas, Texas next year. The SciFest National Final 2022 Awards Ceremony will take place at 2pm on Friday 25 November in the Marino Conference Centre. The ceremony will be streamed live on this platform and via YouTube. A total of twelve special awards will be presented to the lucky winners. The ceremony will conclude with the announcement of the SciFest STEM Champion 2022. Before the presentation of awards there will be a short presentation by Minister for Education, Ms Norma Foley, TD.
